The mechanical properties of polytetrafluoroethylene are relatively soft. It has a very low surface energy.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (F4,PTFE) has a series of excellent performance: high temperature resistance-long-term use temperature 200~260 degrees, low temperature resistance-still soft at -100 degrees; Corrosion resistance-can withstand aqua regia and all organic solvents; Weather resistance-the best aging life in plastics; High lubrication-has the smallest friction coefficient (0.04) in plastics; Non-stickiness-has the smallest surface tension in solid materials without adhering to any substances; non-toxic-physiologically inert; Excellent electrical performance, is an ideal C- class insulation material, a thick layer of newspaper can block 1500V high voltage; Smooth than ice. PTFE material, widely used in national defense, atomic energy, petroleum, radio, electrical machinery, chemical industry and other important sectors. Products: PTFE ethylene bar, pipe material, plate, turning plate. Polytetrafluoroethylene is a polymer of tetrafluoroethylene. The English abbreviation is PTFE. The structural formula is: CF3(CF2CF2)nCF3. It was discovered in the late 1930 s and put into industrial production in the 1940 s. The relative molecular mass of PTFE is relatively large, with hundreds of thousands of low and more than 10 million high.
While the breaking of carbon-carbon and carbon-fluorine bonds in perfluorocarbons requires absorption energies of 346.94 and 484.88kJ/mol, respectively, the depolymerization of polytetrafluoroethylene to produce 1mol of tetrafluoroethylene requires only 171.38kJ of energy. Therefore, during high temperature cracking, polytetrafluoroethylene is mainly depolymerized to tetrafluoroethylene. The weight loss rates (%) of PTFE at 260, 370 and 420°C were 1 x 10-4.4 x 10-3 and 9 x 10-2 per hour, respectively. It can be seen that PTFE can be used for a long time at 260 ℃. Since highly toxic by-products such as fluorine phosgene and perfluoroisobutylene are also produced during high-temperature cracking, special attention should be paid to safety protection and to prevent PTFE from contacting open flames.

Packaging substrate materials: Why are ABF substrates more advanced than BT substrates?
Generally, an important variety of rigid substrate materials is copper clad laminate. It is made of reinforced material (Reinforeing Material), impregnated with resin adhesive, dried, cut and laminated into blanks, then covered with copper foil, used steel plate as a mold, and processed by high temperature and high pressure forming in a hot press. The semi-cured sheet used in the general multilayer board is the semi-finished product of the copper clad laminate in the production process (mostly glass cloth impregnated with resin, dried and processed). In a rigid PCB, the substrate material is typically FR-4. However, in the Flex PCB, the commonly used substrate materials are polyimide (PI) film and PET (polyester) film, and besides these, polymer films such as PEN (polyethylene phthalate),PTFE, and aramid can be used.

Polytetrafluoroethylene is called "plastic king". Roy Planct, the father of fluororesin, began to study freon substitutes in DuPont Company in the United States in 1936. They collected some tetrafluoroethylene and stored it in steel cylinders for the next experiment. However, when the pressure reducing valve of the steel cylinder was opened the next day, no gas overflowed. They thought it was air leakage, but when the steel cylinder was weighed, they found that the steel cylinder did not lose weight. They sawed through the cylinder and found a large amount of white powder, which was Teflon.

PTFE film is made of molded sintered cylindrical blanks, which are cut into films by machine tools and then calendered. According to the different treatment methods, it can be divided into three kinds of oriented film, semi-oriented film and non-oriented film. At present, PTFE film products include porous film, microfiltration membrane, color film and so on.
